PIMP YOUR MIC / EPISODE 1
In this video I will show you how to match the frequency response of two different microphones using equalization, or to be more precise, “EQ Matching”, making use of the Frequeny Response chart provided in the manufacturers Datasheet.
Since I am a happy owner of a RODE VideoMicro, but found it a little bit crispy and lacking bass, I´ve decided to try and match the response of this microphone to the well know, standard in podcasts SHURE SM7B, using a technique I´ve been wanting to put in to practice for quite some time. The results are awesome!!
This technique helps to make different microphones, sound similar to each other. Helping to make less noticeable the changes imprinted by different manufacturers, and specially when you have to use different mics in audio or video productions. I hope it helps and you like it!
